I Remember INDIGO VALLEY
by Jonas Diego
It was the days of legend, or should I say Alamat.
Filipino comic books were being jumpstarted by idealistic young men producing comic book via their own means with nothing more than photocopying machines, staple wires, and a lot blood sweat and tears (though I’m pretty sure alcohol was thrown into the mix).
An independent Filipino Comicbook Group based in Manila, Alamat Comics was founded in November 1994 and has gone on to publish comic books of almost every genre. They put out such titles like Angel Ace, Batch 72, Dhampyr , One Night in Purgatory , and (one of my favorites) PNoise/Indigo Valley.

“PNOISE/INDIGO VALLEY is a 4-part comic book series published in flipbook format by Alamat Comics. Its maiden issue was released in September, 1995. PNoise was created by Antonio Bucu, Aris Lim, Rommel Tamayo and Jaime Rodriguez. Indigo Valley was created by Ricky, Eric and J.E.M.S.”
Check out its entry in Komiklopedia here.
Gerry Alanguilan talks about PNoise and Indigo Valley at length and has a more comprehensive article on his blog here.
Sometimes I can’t believe it’s been that long already. Time flies, eh?
